Leonardo's Muse  Wherever  we go that is unknown, unfamiliar there is mystery. In the shadows of twilight, the dark of the night or between the silence and the sound the unknown beckons us. Whether we seek to discover what is around the next bend or what exists deeper within ourselves, the unknown calls to our desire nature. Until the unknown is known and we realize that it is, just as everything else is, we are the doer. As the doer we identify with that which we do and not the infinite and unlimited presence of being.   I looked at Leonardo. He was sitting on a stool with a beany on his head. It was so comical, covered with whirlygigs. He saw me staring, "This?" he pointed at his chapeau. "I am wearing this to show you what your mind looks like." And he laughed as he always did.--Leonardo's Muse "Awareness is observation without thought."--Leonardo's Muse        Recently I had a series of thoughts circulating through my mind that were not comfortable. In fact they became so disagreeable that I went running to help move them. It didn't seem to be working. Along the route I stopped in to use the public bathroom. The light came on automatically as I opened the door. I 'rested' there for many moments wrestling with these unwanted thoughts. Finally I asked for some way of freeing myself from limitation. It was an earnest request. Shortly afterward, the light went out. There was absolutely no other source of light so there I sat in complete darkness. Very quickly I subdued the fears that arose--who turned out the light? Is there someone in here with me? Because it occured to me that the universe was responding to my question--how do I free myself from these limiting thoughts that cause me pain?      Turn out the light! Turn off the thought--it was simple. That I felt the truth within this instigated a shift in awareness. Sometimes we need to hear something many times and or in many ways before we have that recognition or aha. Being patient and persistent, non-resistive and willing opens us to receive on new levels.      "On a thin silken thread I hang suspended between the I and the I am.
